Machine guns- every army now had machine guns, not just the ones that had industrialized
Trench Warfare- Soldiers dug trenches that they lived in for almost the whole time they were in war. Living conditions were awful because they were constantly exposed to the weather. the trenches stretched about 25,000 miles and were located on the western front. It was great Britain and France against Germany. In the middle of these two trenches was called no mans land. People ran out of the trenches across no mans land to the barbed wire fence and attempted to throw bombs over the wire into their opponent’s trenches. Barbed wire- was placed to defend ones trenches from the enemies, it would be placed in front of the trenches and throughout no mans land to help keep the enemy a farther distance away, keeping them safer. Schlieffen Plan-Germany's war plan to invade France through Belgium. France was tricked into thinking Germany would enter through the German-French border. |
